No two cities put the same demands on a plumbing system, and this stretch of the coast has its own quirks. A plumber who works here every day knows them. We've spent more than two decades under the houses and behind the walls of this part of the county, and the patterns repeat: aging supply lines, hard water, salt air near the shore, and mature trees sitting right on top of clay sewer laterals.
Older Housing Stock
Much of Midtown, the Avenue district, and the neighborhoods around downtown were built well before 1970, which means galvanized steel supply lines and cast iron drains are still common. Those materials corrode and scale from the inside out, so a home can go from good pressure to a pinhole leak in a single season. We repipe and spot-repair with copper and PEX, and we tell you honestly when a patch will hold and when the whole run is living on borrowed time.
